Moorfoot Community Council meets monthly, normally on the first wednesday of the month at 7pm, to discuss matters of interest to the Moorfoot Community.
Community Councils have a statutory right to be consulted on Planning matters, so a part of each meeting is taken up with considering any active planning applications in the area, and with information gathering in regard to any planned major developments.
We also consider concerns raised by local residents that should be forwarded to Midlothian Council - examples include speeding, winter weather planning and the provision of amenities. Cllr Colin Beattie often attends our meetings, which assists in this process.
Our monthly meetings are open to the public to attend as observers - if you have a specific topic you would like to raise, it would help if you could let us know in advance, and we will make that the first item on the agenda. This gives you the opporuntity to leave afterwards if you have no interest in the remainder of the meeting. Note, however, that these meetings are not "public meetings", in that you will not be able to raise questions or make comments during the main part of the meeting, unless invited to do so by the chair.
If you wish to make any comment or ask relevant questions arising from your attendance at the meeting, you will be given the opportunity at the end of the meeting, after AOCB.
